Who is Mary Gannon Kaufmann?

Ms. Mary Gannon Kaufmann, M.A., M.S.  is Director of Incarnate Institute. She has taught collaboratively with Fr. Jack Risley, O.P.,who has been active in retreat and conference ministry and currently is the chaplain with the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters in Sinsinawa, WI.

Mary holds  a Masters in Theology from Loras College in Dubuque, IA where she studied vocations and the Theology of the Body.  In addition, Mary obtained a Certificate in Spiritual Direction/Directing Retreats from Creighton University in Omaha, NE.

She teaches nationally on the role of the laity, vocations, the Theology of the Body, and topics of spiritual growth. She has taught at the parish and diocesan levels with Lay Formation, Vocations, Stewardship and Family Life. 

Prior to directing Incarnate Institute, Mary taught nationally on charisms or spiritual gifts with the  Catherine of Siena Institute in Colorado Springs, CO.
 
She is certified as a Pastoral Associate in the Archdiocese of Dubuque. Her parish-based experiences include directing adult faith formation, RCIA and religious formation of K-12 as both a catechist and director.

She has published articles in Homiletics and Pastoral Review and Vocation and Prayer Magazine on the spirituality of ordained priesthood,Theology of the Body and on discerning personal vocation.

In addition, Mary is a Registered Dietitian with a Masters Degree in Nutrition Science from the University of Minnesota/St. Paul, MN. 
 
She lives in Cedar Rapids, IA with her husband, John (of 25 years) and their six children.
